| Nucor makes some really high quality bar stock and is my preferred vendor. Chinese steel can be (surprise surprise) pretty junkie. And their quality control on metallurgy stinks. One time in a rush I got some "grade 8" 3/4 bolts from Fastenal. I didn't recognize the head markings which means they're from China. Suffice to say these bolts yielded at 220 LB FT. What a joke. Our governments tariffs on steel imports is one of the best things they've ever done. | |
