i agree with msb mostly, except the maturity. that is around when our frost dates are, and we shoot for around a 4.0 - 4.4. i would think you might even go longer than that. problem is finding any that marturity, as they are all but extinct in these areas. for your info. we plant around 110 - 115 day corn, but now thinking about it, we try to pollentate and fill before august heat.. our beans fill in august, we always seemed to be saved by that late aug or labor day rain.. if your feilds are laser flat, not much problems cutting with a rigid platform. just have to watch it, and might get a little dirt. (just increases the test weight dad always said.. haha) i guess when you spray,, big m says spray for the weeds, not the time.. if you have weeds and they are starting to compete with the crop. spray them. canopy shades the rows and keeps not only moisture in, but the weeds from germinating.. seeds per bag do vary, but in general around 3000 seeds per pound, or 150000 seeds per bag..
