Martinsville, Ohio | Farm management is the key to net farm profits. Sounds like you understand it. The BTO's cannot afford any breakdown and must have new stuff with great service to manage their acres.
Like you, I farm with old stuff, even some older stuff. I am 75% done this year with the old stuff and busy cashing checks. I like it that way, paying off the debt a little faster than planned.
The successful farmers in my community are running old paint, never or rarely go backwards and keep inching forward. My Deere neighbor runs old Deere's and even a red combine because it was priced right and works for him.
I guess we all find a way to make it happen but I lost new paint disease a long time ago. This works better for me, we each seek our comfort level.
Those who don't move on to something else.
Man is a curious animal by nature.
