Southeastern Kansas
A problem arises with he plant protection people and all there wonderful services when they cannot supply the demand. This year it is because of no production from the freeze. They have the nerve to drive the price up to unbelievable levels and threaten law suits on those that do not buy their certified seed which very possibly is not available any more. Many of the people that have good quality seed in this area took trucks west and hauled it home from some farmers wheat field he was harvesting. I on the other hand have no seed yet, only promises and as for the price, it hasn't been determined yet. If the plant protection people had any nerve they would say " this year we will look the other way because of all the problems we are encountering. You get your seed any way you need to but only this year. Next year we will come down on you hard if your are illegal." That would be the right thing to do, not the price gouging screwing mess that is going on now. Kansas Crop Improvement Assn get your head out.......
