With high priced feed I would think twice about overcrowding more than 12%. I have heard many of stories of farmer who overcrowded like over 20% and sold off the overcrowded cows and didn't lose much milk volume. Plus got rid of a lot of problems. I overcrowded my heifers when we expanded and pay dearly for that. Bottom line is I never have found a free lunch.
Should I add stalls or sell cows?
