I will agree with getting less spoilage, but I am in MN and when you get about a foot of snow on them and then the sun comes out with a 35 degree day followed by a month of 10 degree you have mess. the whole top third of the bale freezes and when you cut the wrap the top 4 inches of bale comes with it. I agree letting them sit on end does help a lot, but I use 30+ bales a week so its not real practical to have a weeks worth set out all over the yard. I like to use sisal twine and then it usually will pull through the ice one wrap at a time. if not I cut on one side of ice and usually pulls though to the other. I'm not trying to argue about this I'm just agreeing that it is not the clear ticket for everyone everywhere. I like it for the field and it does save more of your spoilage. Just can be a real pain in the winter.
