Subject: Re: Looking at New Holland 688 baler.

I couldn't agree more. Rented a baler that had net on it to bale stalks the last few years to save some life in mine and last year I said never never again. I wanted my twine back. But fall came and we were busy and net is so much faster in the field that I bought it again. This winter was worse. I think net has its place but in very few places on my farm. We run a NH664 also and have had very little trouble. It has twine only and have had to go through the tieing mechanism when we bought it used. Had not been greased often enough and wore some things and would stick every now and then and not stop wrapping. Also had to reinforce the long drive chain area on the left hand side of baler cause a braket bent. I have been having some trouble getitng bales to start in super dry grass hay. Anyone have any ideas for me? Never used to be a problem. A worn roller? For whats been through the baler I think it is a good baler. JMO
