You may want to consider what kind of lifestyle you really need.  In our situation we are happier with less income, with my wife staying home.  Less hectic, and truthfully I operate more efficiently and profitably with her around to help when I need it.  It would take a really serious income from her to make it worth the misery of a town job.  And I mean that, misery.  I would nearly bet your new husband would increase his income and enjoy life more if you stayed at home and became his helper.
