Well, around here the cattle market has been good since February and the last 3 years were considered good until now.  Today 600 plus or minus steers were selling around $1.28 with the last 6 weeks being $1.25 to $1.32.  Heifers are at $1.14 to $1.20.

I have seen 700+ steers sell for $1.20 and I sold 770# heifers this summer at $1.10.  I have sold heifers for more per CWT than I bought them for at 350-400#.

Feedlots started a buying spree in February and have not backed off yet.  Quite a few were even buying in the 350 to 450 pound range during May and June which is almost unheard of around here.

In some locales, the cattle are still a good cash flow.

Here is a link to last week's sale at I believe the 4th largest sale barn in the state by volume.  http://www.farmersandrancherslivestock.com/index.html
