Subject: Land cost vs Usage

S.E. Iowa
At what cost of land is it too much to put livestock (cattle) on . Post on Grass fed beef got me to wondering, Comment was made about good ground being too expensive to use for grass. Looking at local market where 496 lb steers brought $139.50 and 948lb steers brought 108.25 range then looking at local corn market of$ 3.56 considering imputs for each over a 6 yr period ( cost of good cow and useful breeding life) vs corn per acre cost for 6 years is livestock really a looser in the long run. Wont the better ground allow for higher stocking rates, especially when using rotalional grazing.
