Make it at least a 3 car garage with 10 foot wide doors and plenty of room around on sides and front/back. I'd probably look at partial underground for the energy savings. Most of the time the drapes are pulled anyway, so what's the difference if you have a window to look out or not.

Slip lengths of sch 40 pipe in some walls from the attic to the basement at different parts of house, especially by the fuse box. You never know what you might want to do down the road. Had a rope in the wall of parents house for 20 years and never used it. Along came dish network and it sure made it easier to get wires around.
