Same thing here. Just went from regular glasses to the progressives, seems very unfocused except for the spot that you are directly looking at. Hard to get used to that when you're driving machinery and trying to look for movement around you. I also went with the darkening lens, but I don't like them in the cold weather. It takes too long for them to lighten up when you move inside a building.
