Subject: RE: Eyeglasses, again

West Tennessee
I personally think that the progressive bifocals are dangerous. As someone else said "they will get you hurt". I fell off the steps at the back of the office one day and could not figure out why. I rarely ever stumble and fall. About 3 days later I fell off the same steps from a lot higher and shattered my left knee. After a long recovery I decided to have Lasik surgery done so I would not have to deal with the glasses again and have never looked back and glad of it. One thing I found out the hard way is that you can probably compensate in some way for the bifocals in a controlled situation. If you have to move quickly and make critical distance judgements then I don't think the ability to compensate is quite as effective. Can be a very serious problem from my experience. Hope this helps you some in your decision.
