Its comes down to consistency of the officiating and in some cases, the lack of it.
If they're going to call that an "invalid fair catch signal" they better call it often because nearly every return man out there points and moves his arms below his shoulders as he approaches the ball. Never mind that as soon as Dejean caught the ball #37 for MN attempted to tackle him so he clearly did not believe it was a fair catch signal either.
The real BS is that it was only called after the review that only happened because it was a scoring play. Had Dejean went down on the 1 yard line the play would have stood and been 1st and goal.
