Subject: RE: wind towers

My BIL has farmed around about 7 towers for about 10 years now. A couple of years ago a project was attempted but failed around us.

Observations......

Many promises are made. The wind tower people are smart people who already know what questions are going to be asked and know what prospective tower landowners want to hear in order to be in favor of a tower on their property. The tower "land agents" are more than willing to say anything to get a signed deal. Unfortunately, when it comes to implementing these "promises", the tower companies seem to be unwilling to fulfill these "promises" and the landowner is screwed.... and then more lawyers get hired. The wind tower companies claim that they have no idea what their agents promised and can't be held accountable.

The wind people like to use the terms "whenever possible" and "reasonable" when talking to prospective site owners. These terms can mean very different things to different people.

In conclusion, it seems like the absentee landowners like the wind tower $$$$$s and the people who actually have to live by them and farm around them hate them.
