| swne - 3/4/2024 21:21 I know what your saying but any of us could drop dead today and then what happens? Somehow, the work will still get done. So I figure no one is so indispensable that they can't be gone for a few days.
If I don't wake up tomorrow morning, my wife probably sells out of all of the livestock basically as soon as possible (as they reach market weight, without refilling) and rents out the facilities. Since I'm planning on coming back from a vacation, it would be a little extreme to liquidate before every trip. Although I do know cattle feeders that basically empty the yards out every year for a short time, but that's not very practical for how we feed hogs.
I get what you're saying also, but the work still has to get done and finding someone to do it while you're gone on a trip can be a real problem.
We go on a family vacation every year, it takes a lot of effort and planning to make it happen and that's without mentioning the $'s.
