Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska | At 65, we're not as ambitious as we once were. Still try to get away a week or two per year.
We did quite a bit of driving vacations when our kids were small to go see relatives...mainly in Arizona.
When the kids were older and getting out of school my wife and I traveled the most then when were were between 40 and 60 years old. Glad we did. We were still physically able to do some pretty busy and demanding trips. Went on a dozen cruises and other tours. Probably the busiest month we had was when we went to Aruba for a week on a seed company trip. Got home for 5 days and went to Costa Rica on another chemical company trip. Got home for 3 days then took her parents to Hawaii for a tour/cruise for a week. Was still young enough (50ish) to handle that. Not sure I would try all of that now.
I'm probably done with long 12-14 hour flights too.
Planning to just see more of the USA from now on.
On a lot of trips we went on we saw people that waited to long to go. They just couldn't walk as far or just didn't enjoy the more rigorous trips we took. |
