Trips are fun but going away for more than a day or two takes a lot of planning and effort to pull off if you have livestock and aren’t of the size where you have several people working. You work like crazy to get as much done ahead as you can and when you get back you work like crazy to catch up.
Livestock operations don’t just go onto cruise control/auto pilot for weeks/months at a time. Everything still has to get done, on time, every time/every day.
Even if you’re a 2 or 3 person operation, with full time work for everyone, if 1 of you is gone for any length of time it dumps a lot of work onto 1 or 2 guys. |
