Western Nebraska | Anyone else having issues getting corn seed from Dekalb this year? Dealer was happy to take our prepay in November; we asked multiple times about availability concerns, and they had none. Just got a call in the last week that they simply don't have the variety we prepaid for, and have no other varieties within 5 days to replace it with.
This is our 7th year with Dekalb, and the first we've had this issue. Been pretty disappointed how they're throwing their hands up and saying they can't get anything 3 months after they took our prepay. Moving to another brand this year as we have no option, but are pretty frustrated not only that they held our money for 3 months, but we're paying a higher $/bag with another brand because we lost all the prepay discounts. Between cash and early discounts it's around 15-20% higher we are stuck paying, let alone the 3 months we could've been earning interest on the cash they sat on. | |
