Western, New York | From what I understand Kerosene is different and lacks the lubrication that Diesel fuel has and can be harsher on fuel systems. Here Kerosene is close to 2x the cost of offroad diesel here. I had the opportunity to buy a few hundred gallons this year for cheap cheap but opted out because of the lubrication factor. As far as #1 vs #2 I have always run winter blend which what I'm told is a mixture of #1 and #2. 10+ years and the only issue I have ever had with gelled fuel is in an ancient ford backhoe that sat outside and im sure that had more to do with contamination from the weather than fuel quality. Our winters can be pretty rough and its not uncommon to have a few weeks of below zero temps at night...just my 2 cents | |
