SE ND
Typical #1 is a slightly lower viscosity and has had the parrifin removed. Never ruined and engine running #1 through it and I can tell you it's zero fun trying to un-gel a road grader when it's -40 and they didnt put #1 in. Diesel at that temp is like touching liquid nitrogen, wet cold hands. We try to watch the weather and start blending accordingly. Running straight #1 since the 1st of the year and typically do every winter. The peace of mind far outweighs the ***ache of running additive and still gelling up. There's also P-40 here which is basically #2 with the parrifin removed but doesn't blend well with regular #2 and will still cloud/gel at that point.
