Byron IL | Another thing that you might consider is hiring a consultant that is like minded with your goals. As for your fence posts. I always had the best luck with a post auger and pack the dirt in around the post. Fill the hole about 1/3 to half full of loose dirt and then tamp the heck out of it with a tamper. I make my own with some 1 " pipe with about a 3-4" round plug of some type from the scrap pile ,with some weight to it, welded on the bottom. I don't know how big of rocks you have to deal with? The auger will usually pull up fist sized rocks with no problems. sometimes you have to use a bar to pop loose larger ones. I would check with the older farmers in the area that made fence in your area and ask them before you start. | |
