Ne Nebraska
Here is my thoughts, Havnt read all replies. But I would call the closest sale barn and tell them you want a dozen hard WEANED 500-600lb steers. Have the barn vet give them any vaccinations he suggests for your area. Give them a water source, make sure the fence don’t have big holes and turn them out. Get a 20’ steel bunk and feed 5# per head per day of rolled corn a day through the summer to keep them friendly and started on feed. Sept first start upping the corn 2# a week till they are getting 20# each a day. First of November lock them in a small yard and give 20-25# rolled corn, 1# of a protein pellet and a few lbs of hay a day. Get a locker appointment in February and take them to butcher! Start over the next spring.
