I didn't read any other replies first. I am going to give my .02 though.

Out front deck is a must. Once you have one, you won't ever want to mess with a belly mower of any style ever again.

Zero turn radius......absolutely a must. That going out and making a circle to come back in even on corners kills so much time.

Hydrostat.....absolute must. No messing with those variable speed belts and pulley systems like some of the older ranch kings had.

Now, with that said.......there is a list of them out there that will fall under that category with all 3 "must haves".

I have a zipper mower currently. I like it. It's nice. but it is not the fastest or the best.

Its a lil like anything else, spend a lil now and spend some later or just spend it all now and not do crap with it down the road except regular maintenance. With Mom, you going to want her to be able to get on, turn the key, and mow. Not have breakdowns. You want her to be comfy. I spec, with a lil looking out there, you might even find one for her with a cup holder. If not, I can set you up! ;-)

For the love of God.......don't get one that says massey on it. LOL
