Subject: Riding mowers

Heil Harvesting, Ulysses KS/Limon CO
Mom laid down the law, we will be getting a riding mower. We mow 3 acres with a push mower. Now that may sound like cruel and unusual punishment, but we are all buffalo grass. She likes to do the mowing. And she has resisted till now. And we only mow the whole thing 3 times a year, tops. Hire it done while we are on harvest.

So-we are looking for a used mower. What do you have? What do you like and dislike about it? We mow mostly open areas. I do not want a super clumsy mower for her, but doubt a ZTR is a must. Bagger not neccesary. Any ideas?

This will be our first riding mower. Shoot me any advice-drives, transmissions, brands etc. Please explain your logic. If you tell me I would not buy anything but brand X or would never own brand X without any thoughts on why-I am likely to do the opposite of what you say. Right or wrong.
