Well if you have to get a mower that is going to sit mostly I'd get a diesel over a gas machine. I bought a used JD 455 that turns out to have a plush riding seat and 60" deck. Kind of spendy & hefty so I added a 3pt and couple of attachments for landscaping and it also is a great trailer mover in and out of the shed & garages.
