Lots of opinions coming from different operators and different conditions. Everybody is doing what works for them. You probably just have to keep trying things until you find something you like for your system. Personally I'm all no till and I have good luck with floating Yetter finger wheels. They've plugged once this year from a tree branch. I tried the shark tooth wheels on a couple rows and didn't care for them at all. One thing about floating wheels (at least the style I have, don't know about others) is you have the option of locking them solid which I do for corn on corn. You can also limit downward travel to keep them from gouging in loose ground.

Hopefully a good rain to get the soil in better condition will be the best answer.
