SC
I have floating martins and i plant directly over a ripper slot. Uneven, crappy conditions sometimes. I like the fact that i can set the martins in many positions and make them work just like a fixed. When we ran fixed they just tickled anyhow, except for the un even spot where they would dig. In that situation, now the floaters will only dig so deep. Oh, most of the time we run the planter with up pressure springs cause the ripper slot is so soft. I am not saying which ones are best, i like the martins. Before the martins all we had were sunco's. Seems like i wore the handle off the tractor door changing the setting on them. I do think the spoked wheels are better than the notched out disc type. One day, when i hit the lotto maybe ill try the dawn GFX that you can set from the cab. Neighbor had some fixed dawn row cleaners he liked that you turned a knob to set.
