Subject: Drive with both feet

East Central Ia
One foot on the accelerator, one on the brake.

Like the other drivers said throttle up to shift down... makes perfect sense but for some reason it takes a while to get your body to do it.

When shifting up give it a little extra throttle right before you slip it out of gear... it just takes the pressure off the transmission so it comes out of gear nicely. You do the same thing downshifting but keep your foot on the throttle and slow yourself a little with the brake until your rpms match up right to get into the next gear... or just rev the engine up a couple hundred rpm to get it into gear quicker and save on brakes (this is the preferred method).

I virtually never use the brakes to slow down... only when I need to downshift while going downhill. Jake's and downshifting are the cats meow!

My dad loves his brake pedal... to each his own I guess.
