| I've found that any road ranger's I've driven had about 500 rpm between the gears. I never clutch except to get moving if I can't roll away and throw it in gear...
I just ease off on the fuel, slide it out of gear, then rev up or drop back (whatever is necessary), and just touch the lever easy..... you should feel the teeth clicking a bit if it's not quite right, then adjust your speed up or down to find it, then slide it in.
If you want to shift quick and crisp you better have your speeds dead on with the tach.
What I found is that if you clutch on every shift, it's probably more forgiving of the gears... and you'll be tempted to shift faster, BUT, with me at least, I was harder on the clutch. Just take your time. Learn to find them. Practice at it. It'll come to you.
