Up here in ND they are using it in the bakken formation. They can drill down 11k feet and angle with enough accuracy that theoreticly if you put a coffee can on the far end of 2 sections (2 miles) at 12000 feet they could hit it. I highly doubt horizontal drilling ruined any water wells, the methane was there before they drilled . Lotza wells have this problem. Makes for an easy blame to blame it on the oil comps
