Way wider than 60 ft common in Iowa. Agree that distance between the poles (and trusses) makes a huge difference. Not to sway your mind on a builder, but just so you can see what is commonly built every day, look for Morton Buildings on the web. They will have pictures of really wide clear spans that they build all of the time. Width is not your problem. Overall strength is what you need to be sure is adequate. Even the quality/grade of the lumber makes a difference--not just the dimensions of the boards. I'd be skeptical if your builder doesn't have experience designing wide spans if 60 is considered "wide" there.
