Southwest Missouri | Probably depends on the facts. We own 640 acres. We know the land. I would warn anyone regarding things I know about. And, I do know almost everything that could cause a problem. I have been over the fields enough to know.
To me, it is a courtesy, at a minimum, to warn of problems that I know about. We seldom have anyone on the land. We do almost all the work ourselves. We rented a place and had someone else bale the hay one year. I told the baler guy where the stumps were, the wet spots, etc. I was not guaranteeing that there were no other problems. I did tell about the ones I had discovered in 10 years running over the land. No reason for him to damage his equipment when I already knew about the problems.
My perception is shaped by my experiences. I did hit a stump in a hay field that had very thick grass. There really was not much warning. The owner later told me "I was wondering if you were going to find that old stump." I did not go back there again. | |
