Subject: what is the best way to go about it....

was harvesting soybeans for a neighbor and wouldn't you know it there was a stump that was dead but in the field and not picked up. well we found it after it had broke all the fingers in the center and bent the shaft the fingers run on. (cih 1020) this is a field that is on a hill not in a creek bottom and no trees other than in the fences. after we put a chain on and jerked it out because the reverser wouldn't back it out we seen that there were disk marks where they had disked it before they sowed it so they should have known it was there. i'm sure others have had the same dealings with this situation i would like to know how to handle it the best way. it cost somewhere in the neighborhood of 500$ to get everything back together and going. TIA
