If you asked if there was any obstruction and they said "no", then you would have something to talk about. If you did not ask, maybe they did not think about it and the need to warn.

Something similiar happened to me when I was cutting hay. I fixed it and then told the owners, with a smile, that it sure would have been nice if I had been warned. If I had been warned, I would not have been cutting at 3:00 in the morning. I would have waited for daylight so I could see better.

Glad you were able to get it fixed.
