We have carried what is commonly referred to "rock" ins for years. Damage doesn't have to be from rocks alnoe, it will cover any foreign object that cause damage if ingested by the combine. Cost is relatively low, less than $100 /yr I believe, and has a deductible of $1,000. Besides parts, it will pay for repair labor & for a loaner machine if your's will be down for more than a specified time. WE never have had to use it , cameclose as couple years ago when we picked up a rock that pretty much did the same damage as what happened to "coolhead". Parts were just at $1,000 but we did the repairs ourselves.

I have heard of rocks that got into the rotor / cylinder that have done over $10,000 damage. WE don't have many rocks but for us the $100 or so a yr is worth the piece of mind. Just hope we never have to use the ins but it's there if needed.
