Owings, Maryland 38.6856 N 76.6752 W
CR-6=crusher run no stones larger than # 6 or 3/4" in size filled with a lot of fines, hence crusher run.
RC-6=recycled crusher run, same size with pieces of bricks, concrete, wire and whatever.
GAB= graded aggregate base, similiar to CR-6 but much more consistant, hence the graded.
#57= 3/4" stone with no fines.
The list is endless and probably varies widely across the regions.
For a drive of any type I would suggest pulverized asphalt millings, leave the geo-textile fabric at the store, lay about a 4" course of the millings, drive on and maintain for a couple of months and you will have a trouble free drive. Holds up well and will finish off almost as good as pavement.
Most important aspect in driveway construction/upkeep is pitch, the drive has got to be sloped or crowned one way or the other. Best of luck.........................Joe
