Subject: RE: Driveway stone----what size?

Alberta, Canada
I really haven't a clue as to what those names mean.....

When we re-did ours probably oh..... 5-or-more years ago, we dug it all up, put down a layer of sand, then a roll of "fabric cloth", then a layer of clay, then gravel. After a year or two that was solidly packed and mixed, and a layer of 3/4" crush is required.

If you want something that'll freeze solid enough for plowing...... I'd say you'll probably require smaller than 3/4", something that'll mix deeper into the driveway. Muddy when it's wet, but in the winter it'll be solid.

Sorry, I know that was basically useless enough to not warrant postage.
