Subject: RE: Sorghum Sudangrass as haylage and silage

NC Indiana
We planted both sorghum sudangrass and a forage mix after wheat this yr. Ran 6 big sq/ac cut at 30" (cut one day, baled the next) and left the second cutting for winter stockpile. I posted our forage mix test results under my silage post below. We're 1 hr W of Ft Wayne. Guy that bales our hay said another one of his customers (dairy) ran 10 bales/ac 1st cutting and took a second cutting. 60 lbs/ ac of N was applied there.
