Texas/New Mexico Stateline | In your part of the world the hard part will be getting it to dry. It is really slow drying. Have to run the crimpers really tight and it still will take a couple weeks out here sometimes if it is humid. I would suspect OH would be much worse.
Otherwise yes, if put up right it makes really good feed. Cattle love it. Plant it thick to make smaller stalks will help it be more palatable, and dry quicker. You can cut it when it gets 6-8ft tall, and if you have enough time might be able to graze it or get another cutting. |
