Amherst WI | When I was in HS I had 20 sows that I farrowed in an old dairy barn. That barn was like trying to heat a screen porch. When the pigs got to 40lbs I weaned them and took them to another farm that I had a cowyard that I finished them out on. I had another farm where I bred the sows and let them gestate.
I got rid of my pigs when I went to college. My wife and I had a couple last summer again for our freezer. I wouldn't mind having a few sows again to sell butchers to freezer pig people and sell feeder pigs. It seems like there is always someone looking for feeder pigs on Craigslist. | |
