Saronville NE | We farrowed and weaned inside but had all on dirt till he built a 500 head finisher, but still had all the dirt lots. He had 1 PT hired man just during planting and harvest ( was a retired neighbor he rented ground from), he ground 100% of his own feed. If I remember right ground feed 2-3 days a week took better part of a day, besides the farrowin and nursery work. I was too young to remember everything back then, but know we also fed cattle, so chores were pretty much all day affair, did alot of fieldwork at nite, didnt see him alot when we were kids. | |
