The best kind for my house was whatever my wife wanted lol.
We installed about 1000'sq 8 years ago, prefinished oak. I wanted maple but that wasn't the 'best' kind for our house.
I think the finish would make a bigger difference than the wood underneath, but I'm not familiar with the latest flooring.
