we did the land o lakes thing for about 20 years, used there calf feed for the transition off of milk, then went to rolled high moisture corn free choice with steak maker hand spread in the bunk 2 times a day. at a certain weight we switched them over to the steak finisher to finish them off.
each pen got a few lbs of dry stemmy hay each day as well. like candy, it got them up and eating in the middle of the day so they didnt lay all day long.
averaged 100-110 bushels of corn from calf to market, averaged 13 months to take them to market.
i kinda miss walking wheel barrows of corn from the cropstore to the steer shed.

I would like to get started on fixing up the unloader on the crop store next summer, i liked steers.
