Had the pilot light go out on my whirlpool water heater. Called the 800 number on the tank. After talking to a guy in India for 5 minutes he told me to call Sears factory service and that they were going to replace the gas valve free of charge. I thought that was very generous. Then when I was talking with the repairman he told me that he had replaced at least 2 of those valves a day for the past 6 months! No wonder Whirlpool was so generous, their product was junk, they knew it, and were making it right.
