| If a person studies history it becomes very clear that freedom and the basic human rights that the last several generations have enjoyed is an anomaly. Historically the masses of the world have basically been slaves to a few select families that were born into power and that power was often abused. If the masses had any worldly possessions and freedom it was because it was allowed by their born leader, it was not a right.
It is not fear mongering to say that we need to be diligent to ensure that the free societies of the world, which is not by any means the norm of human history, will not devolve back into totalitarianism under oppressive rulers. | |
