This ..... this right here is why YOUR the problem. Instead of respecting ones choice to vote, or not vote for somebody who he feels aligns with his beliefs you instantly resort to name calling. It does nothing to further the dialog and further cements this identity politics that has taken over both parties.
You ask if mean tweets and name calling are reasons not to vote for somebody. I think it is. These are not qualities that I want my kids to possess, so why should I allow my elected officials to act this way. We are losing to ability to peacefully disagree and compromise with each other by electing this kind of behavior. If neither canadidate has these, or I disagree with their policy then I have every right not to check a box.
