Sheridan Mi
My kids milked cows with me up until they were out of high school. Up until he was about 13, the older one wanted to keep it up. When the daily drudgery kicked in, he changed his mind. After college and working a while, he did decide he wanted to farm again, just not with dairy cows. So ya, in my experience, there's an age in there when there's a good chance they'll loose interest. I've known a lot of cases where boys have met a girl who put a stop to their desire to farm. Some come to mind who stayed in ag related fields, but didn't come back to the farm. I sure wouldn't spend a whole bunch of money gambling on a kid from 13 to 16 sticking around.
