Subject: Weight put into next generations opinions?

I've got some friends with kids between 13-16 years old whom have heavy interest in the farm and toss opinions out. My and their question was this. How serious do you take it? One friend said very serious to the point he's building a cattle barn. Next said until they are older and put skin in the game it's talk. We all agree at 13 nor 16 that's not something to be decided but at 16 some more serious conversation compared to 13 or 14. So again at which age do you think their opinions on the farm should carry weight? Even the point of steering the operation? Just interested in your take!
