Subject: RE: NRCS Woes

SW WI
Here in WI, there are a lot of fixes that could happen by the landowner (farmer or other individual) but some damn government agency says not so fast.

Usually that’s the WI DNR

Study, engineer plans, overbuild….then complain about no budget.

The DNR holds easement rights along a creek thru my farm. I’ve complained endlessly about maintaining riprap on banks. As it’s neglected you have more and more erosion and if they ever decide to fix ….money will not go as far as maintaining in a timely manner. I’ve asked them if I can just do it on my own as my time and money would allow.

A resounding NO….you better not touch that without our permission.

Makes no sense at all.

While the OP is complaining about the NRCS…they actually get 10 times more bang for their buck at conservation fixes than the WI DNR.

Former Governor Scott Walker had it right…neuter that damn agency.
